More Than The Air You Breathe!
By: Dr. Catanzaro
You would think that simply breathing would take care of the body’s need for oxygen, at one time this may have been the case, back when people ate clean, drank pure water and didn’t sit inside buildings at a computer all day! As was shared in the last post, but worth repeating, Dr. Otto Warburg stated that “the cause of cancer is no longer a mystery; we know it occurs whenever any cell is denied 60% of its oxygen requirements.” Dr. Alec Borsenko said that “Oxygen gets rid of toxicity. Bacteria, viruses and parasites are destroyed in the presence of oxygen-especially cancer.” Before you run for your oxygen mask or to the next oxygen bar, here are some basic ways to oxygenate your body, no extreme measures needed!
Alkalize the Body
Remember seeing the pictures of the gulf oil spill and the affected marine life? Whenever there’s stagnant, polluted water, life usually comes to a standstill! Your body is no different, it requires, an oxygen-rich environment, free from toxins in order to thrive! In case you missed this in chemistry, here’s a little refresher course! Alkali solutions which have a pH level over 7.0 absorb oxygen and acids which have a pH under 7.0 drive out oxygen. When the body’s pH is low, then toxins abound in cells, reducing oxygen levels. To retain oxygen, blood must stay at an alkaline pH 7.4, which isn’t a problem when the body is being fed a steady diet of mineral containing foods; however this isn’t the typical American diet. When your blood isn’t being fueled by minerals to maintain its proper alkaline balance, then it is forced to steal minerals, causing acidic fluids in other parts of the body. Acid is the base of disease including the formidable cancer. So how do you create an alkaline environment? One of the easiest things you can do is to increase your intake of plant-based foods (think fruits, vegetables and nuts) and reduce your consumption of animal-based and processed foods.
You know how important drinking water is, but here’s just one more reason to stay hydrated! Water hoses the toxins out of your body and helps get oxygen to the cells. But not all water is created equal! Even though some water manufacturers claim to have higher oxygen content in their water, the more important issue is how well the body can use the oxygen that is in the water. According to the site, Water Benefits Health, “the smaller the clusters of water molecules, the more absorptive the water becomes at the cellular level. Water that is more hydrating will help oxygenate your body more effectively. Ionized water is micro-clustered and will thus provide higher levels of hydration and oxygenation at the cellular level.” It may not be possible to always drink ionized water, but at least make sure you are drinking filtered water, you don’t want to create more toxic-buildup just by the water you’re drinking!
Movement in the form of aerobic exercise is helpful in removing toxins through the lymphatic system and helping your body use oxygen. The lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump so it depends on movement to get all the waste out. According to Natural News, “from the standpoint of health and body oxygenation, you would be better off walking for 15 minutes a day rather than spending an hour or more in the gym 2 to 3 times a week.” This doesn’t mean you have to skip your 1 hour workout in favor of 15 minutes, but the goal is to incorporate exercise into your schedule every day for effective oxygenation of the cells. After all when is exercise not a recommendation for health!
These are three key lifestyle choices that are not only effective in preventing cancer, but a host of other diseases as well. Cancer is not a spontaneous occurrence but develops over time and can either be encouraged or discouraged by your daily habits. So take a deep breath in and make the choice to be proactive today in preventing cancer!
